SUMMER HARVEST 2011

mango harvest tampa

The freezes that we had in 2009 had a great impact on our mango tree. We had no fruit in 2010. We had to chop off the damaged upper half. This caused the tree to go crazy and it made up for lost time.
From June 20 to July 21, we harvested over 50 mangos, each weighing in at a whopping pound and a half. They were so sweet and not stringy. And you could really smell the sweet scent of mango on the outside of the fruit. Can't wait until next year's harvest.

SPRING HARVESTS 2011

The freezes that we had in 2009 had a great impact on the citrus harvest for this spring too. At a home where we usually get 20 to 30 buckets of grapefruits, we were only able to fill 5 buckets. At another home, one citrus tree died and the one remaining tree had very small sized fruit. I am still looking for trees to pick so if you know of any, call me.

SPRING HARVESTS 2010

Check out this photo. This was a small part of the harvest from just one home. We picked oranges, tangerines, lemons and grapefruits.

If you want to volunteer to pick fruit and share some of this bounty, please email me so I can add you to the mailing list.

FRUIT PICKING SCHEDULE 2011

I have done a few picks of citrus this past month but there is not enough to warrant calling helpers to assist in the harvest. As soon as I can lock in to available fruit I will send out an email to everyone.

Welcome to Greenfields

City Fruit Harvesting

Some neighbors have citrus trees but don’t care to eat the fruit or clean up the fallen mess. Other neighbors have more mangos and avocados than they know what to do with. I like fruits of all kinds and I know lots of people who sure would like to have them too. So I will help you pick your fruit trees for free and share the fruit with folks who want and need it. If you need help getting your trees picked, contact me. If you want some of the free fruit, contact me. If anyone has calamandin trees (those little sour oranges), I would like the fruit. Or if you want to volunteer to help pick fruit, contact me.
